My Divorce SUCCESS Story!
I live a beautiful life on a peaceful lake in Central Illinois. Two creative and active kids keep my handsome husband and me busy! We manage our rental properties, own MUSE Morton and have a decked out welding and ceramic studio.
I love to spend time hiking, reading historical novels, drinking good coffee and mixing up new cocktails for our weekly Friday Pizza Nights. We love Door County, Wisconsin and I run a half marathon there every Spring.
But it wasn't always like this.
I married my high school sweetheart after dating for four years through high school and college. We were driven and had similar personalities. We graduated college in three years to get on with our careers and goals. As we grew up, we grew apart. Quickly. While our divorce was mostly amicable, it was still painful. The life I thought I knew and the couple I thought I knew were not what I had perceived.
My life had to be reinvented.
I floundered.
I failed.
I messed up.
I didn't recognize myself.
Family and friends (the ones that stuck around) were wonderful supporters but their advice came with a heavy dose of emotion and bias. My lawyer knew we wanted an amicable divorce but I received no advice on my blind spots.

I Needed a Divorce Coach Near me
I wish I had someone who could have guided me better. Although I made it through, I could have done it better if I had a Divorce Coach near me to hire to be by my side. I didn't want anyone else to go through what I did so after years of helping my friends through their divorces throughout Central Illinois, I decided to become a Certified Divorce Coach.
The Gift of Divorcing WellNow, I coach my clients navigate the Divorce process with dignity. They understand what is next in the Family Law courts. They have clarity on the Financial Affidavit, Parenting Plan and alllll the paperwork they receive from their attorney. My clients get through their divorces truly Focused Forward on the end result: an amicable but fair divorce. A divorce in which they coparent well if they have children or grandchildren. A divorce where they are financially stable and independent. A divorce that they can live the rest of their post-divorce life peacefully.
I am so, so thankful for a friend’s referral to Katie! I felt I had a pretty good grasp on the divorce process but did not trust my ex enough to not throw some curveballs. I hired Katie to be another set of eyes and ears, to reassure me that I was not overlooking anything. She ended up exceeding this expectation! She gently nudged and kept me on task. She suggested other options to consider when I was uncertain. She provided recommendations for great, local resources. She listened through my tears, my frustrations, and my worries! She was so easy to work with and to talk to! She has been a true blessing and calm through the end of my (marriage) storm! ~Buffi O. |
