I was there too. The unknown. The fear of losing everything. The worry of "what if this makes my life WORSE??" The hardest thing for people when they are considering divorce is the unknown that lies beyond. Even if they are in a terribly abusive relationship, they at least know what to expect. Add in a healthy dose of judgment from others that have no idea what's happening and it's a recipe for staying stuck and continuing the cycle forever. I think the only disappointment my clients have had after the divorce process is over is that they didn't do it sooner. I've never had a client regret the choice. That's not to say it's always easy, but they always seem to find that the challenges prove to be worth the effort. If I hadn't found the bravery in my 20's to make the decision to divorce, I would not be HERE now. With my amazing, loving, supportive husband. Two fantastic kids.
